Tandem Trike

Question I have a friend an older guy and his wife has limited use of hands but can ride her own trike.
He would like a tandem trike with 10 speed or more but not a recumbent style trike he does not want to ride her on a 2 wheel tandem just incase (balance issue) safety is on his mind.
He has seen several tandem trikes but all are single or three speeds only, the only 10 speeds he sees are recumbent style do they make 10 speed tandem trikes at all?

None that we know of in the US.
A very few British builders are into tandem trikes.
Have also heard of, but never actually seen, a kit that will convert a single or tandem into a trike.
Custom would be another the way to go.

They do not want a recumbent trike.

Those look like good quality trikes! Besides the situations like that explained by the OP, why would someone want to ride a trike?

This is a serious tandem. I don't recall if our friends' bike has double or triple chainrings but we are hard pressed to stay with them with our 27 speeds.

I know it's not considered good etiquette to post ebay links, but seeing as a tandem trike is such a rare item and you're specifically looking for one I think it may be allowable!
A very nice Longstaff example. (Nothing to do with me in any way, so no point asking me questions about it!)
