Older Co-Motion information
In my efforts to obtain touch up paint for our Speedster, I've been trying to determine the year of our bike.
We bought a used Co-Mo, it was listed as a 2002 Speedster, but after some internet homework, I'm pretty much convinced it is an earlier bike originally bought in 02.
Using the frames serial number, the frame was fabricated in 99.
Problem arrises in that on the Co-Mo website, they list 99 as Dupont Imron Paint and 2000 as PPG paint.
Checking Bikepedia, the specs most aligned indicate a 2000, but it's not an exact match.
I did call Co-Motion, and while kind and helpful, they have no records for the older stuff.
I would also like to obtain a geometry chart for the earlier bike, as our dimension do differ from current generation same models. This is more for future reference if and when the day comes a new bike is bought.

Getting back to the frame, Co-Motion lengthened their stoker compartments from what I believe was 27.55 (same as Santana) to 28.5" for the 2001 model year. As for earlier frame geometry information, if you're willing to give Co-Motion another ring, ask to speak with Dwan Shepherd. He'll know and be able to tell you what you need to know.
However, and again going from memory, I'm pretty sure the medium and larger size tandems still have the same frame geometry, e.g., 73* head & seat tube with 50mm of rake. The smallest size frames -- at least for the Java and Double E -- used to have a 72.5* head tube, but that seems to be the extent of differences that I can recall at least for the late 90's models as that's when I was considering a Double E and shopping it against an Erickson.
