Tire Suggestion

I am looking for tire suggestions. I will be riding paved roads, Burley tamburello is the bike with my 9 year old son on the back. Total team weight of approx. 250 to 260 lbs. I am not into flat tires. Currently the bike has 700x28c tires. I was looking at the Continental Gatorskins. I will be doing a couple of multi-day tours pulling a Bob Yak trailer.

You've probably looked far enough.

Gatorskins have received very good reviews here and elsewhere.

Or you could start the debate again.

Plenty of others have their favorites but there's a pretty strong consensus that Gatorskins are a very good choice for flat resistant, and relatively easy rolling, tandem rated tires.

700x28 Gatorskins have served us extremely well thus far. We have had them for nearly a year of hard miles (lots of descending).

Gatorskins

Have 700x28 Gators on the every day wheels......2500+ miles and no flats. They ride great and corner great too!!!!

28c gators are a great choice...we ride 28c conti 4 season GP's and love them as well..great tire but we wear out the rear out every 1500 miiles. We are a 310 pd team.

We replace our rear 28c gators every 1000 - 1200 miles but we are a heavier team. Rear tires seem to wear out faster in hills.

Agreed with Gatorskins being a good choice. The 4 seasons tires have been improved with the addition of a Dura skin belt. In my experience they're about the same level of flat resistance as the Gatorskins, and perhaps a little bit better ride.

We run Conti GP 4000 in a 25mm. Nice tire with solid grip and excellent ride.

I don't know anyone who is.

You guys rock.....thanks for the input. I have seen the continental 4 seasons..I will look at them also. I appreciate the feed back. Think i will run the gatorskins on my single as well.

I had 700x25 Gatorskins and had zero flats. I wanted to try something new and narrowed it down to the Michelin Pro3 and Conti GP 4000 and got the Contis. Waiting to put them on this spring.

We have been looking for some Pro 3 25mm, and so far no one seems to have
them. Pro 2 25mm ride nicely especially on turns at speed, but our mileage has
been abysmal averaging 1300mi on the rear and maybe 1800-2000 on the front
on our team at #360-370. Apparently production is drifting to Thailand and
ramp up has been slowed. We liked the Conti gatorskins before we got the
new bike with its Pro2 but can't recall mileage.
