the lone tandem

We participated in the Glasner Autumn challenge this past Saturday. It was a great ride with wonderful support. The only downside was being the only tandem out there. Fortunately my stoker does a good job of keeping me company. Have a great Labor Day weekend!!

Murf, if you were the only tandem out there, I have to believe that
1. You were so far out in front of the other tandem riders that you had packed up and were on your way home before they crossed the finish line
2. Nobody other than you in the Montgomery area knows how much fun it is to ride a tandem.
Glad you had a great time.

Thanks Vault - we did have a good time and I never thought that a bacon/tomato sandwich with mayo could taste so good after a ride. The support provided by the locals was fun and quite amusing with the first rest stop having an Animal House theme.

A lot of folks are definitely missing out on the fun of a tandem. We're hoping to make the Georgia Tandem Rally 2010 but registering in time might be tough.

We didn't smoke the ride but a strong team would have given the singles a tough time. The rollers are just the right size for a team that runs 20+.

We'll be back to our regular ride this weekend and looking forward to our local century in October. It's the same roads we ride every weekend but there's a ton of support, post-ride lunch and the money benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters West Florida Wheelmen
