I have a Schwinn Twinn which had V-brakes welded onto it and custom 26" double wall wheels built about 3 years ago. Rafael Vazquez from Chelsea Bikes in NYC did the welding, wheel bulding, etc. I was VERY pleased with the improvements in comparison to original rear drum brake system. I am able to safely stop with either the front or rear brakes.
After 3 years I finally bent the axle on the rear 36 holed SUZUE pro max freewheel hub and cracked the lock nut. Figuring that I can solve this issue myself I My issue is that the axle
(fyi -- I'm not interested in hearing how I should have just gotten another tandem and left this one alone :/)
