Joy of Joy's!
 

My wife, Joy, has agreed to go on a 27 mile club ride this Sunday on the tandem! One of our club members is sponsoring a pot luck breakfast party at his house afterward. That's what reeled her in.

The entire club ride is 46 mi, but the last time she went over 25 mi or so she slept all day.

It's a good start.

I'm Psyched! TOmorrow's the day. The Lambo is packed in the van and everything is ready to go. I'll be doing 27 mi, and be able to put the breakfast cassarole in the oven at the host's house in time to have it ready when the peloton arrives!

BIG step forward. Joy tried on one of my club kits, you know those "goofy" looking bike suits. The first one was last years and the pad was too big. Then she tried on the ladies bike shorts I bought but she refused to wear. MUCH more comfortable, and she actually likes them. So now she will wear this year's club jersey as it is designed to be worn with black shorts. Lordy, she looks so HAWT!

So it's now in the books. Or the Garmin log anyway. My y70 y/o buddy who is still recovering from being hit on Jan 13th rode with us. He got dropped from the get- go, so Joy and I dropped back to ride with him. We pulled him all 17 mi. We avg 15mph and would have picked it up a little but Joy got a pain in her hip from something, so I didn't want to push it.

We needed to get back to the start at 9AM to put our egg casserole on so it turned out to be a good recovery ride for me after yesterday's hammerfest.

We had a great party afterwards. It was a great time. Unfortunately I forgot to get a Pic of the Happy Tandem Couple. :^(
