Chain ring bolts

Has anyone had any experience with chainring bolts coming prematurely loose? I've been having that happen more often than expected. Last season I lost 3 bolts on my granny gear, this season I've lost two on a timing crank and three more have come loose on the other timing crank. I usually go over the bike every spring and tighten things up and shoot grease where it needs it, check for frayed cables, etc. But this chainring bolt issue is really curious.

Yes, I've lost a few over the years, but it was typically just a one-time discovery on a given, typically brand-new crankset.

Once I discovered the loose or missing bolts, re-torquing solved the problem. I've since solved it and most other new bike / component problems by never assuming that bolts were originally torqued correctly, using assembly paste on carbon bits, and using Loctite 242 on any bolts that can typically be the source of creaks and squeaks.

I lost one on my timing crank which was new.
Its a good idea to check them periodically.

maybe a bit of the lightest-duty Locktite?

Thanks everyone. I went over all of them all up today and am considering the Loctite idea.
