tandeming France in summer 2011

Karin and I are tandem-enthusiasts since 2000. We have been cycling a lot in France (Alps, Pyrenees, Auvergne, Alsace … and love French cuisine), made tours in Italy, Switzerland, Norway and … New Zealand.
For this summer, we would like to make a tandem tour in France with English-speaking tandem-couples who would like to share time, fun, camaraderie, French cuisine and itinerary (Normandy, Bretagne, (Champagne? Pyrenees) … in July 2011: minimum of luggage, Logis-de-France-Hotels.
We are about 43 years old, cycle 80-120 km a day and love good food. We suggest a time-range between 4th of July and 4th of August 2011.
Why not France in summer 2011? Join us and let’s have a great tandeming-time in France. Contact us for further plans, details and ideas.

My wife and I live not far from you, in Lausanne, Switzerland. We often head to France for some touring with the tandem. Our daily distances sound similar to yout, and we might be interested in joining up with you for all or part of a trip. We are a Canadian and Brit in their 30's.

We're occasionally in your part of the country, and could even meet up somewhere in Switzerland at some time.

Hi Chris

Thank you very much for your answer: Lausanne really is not far from us (at least by train ; by tandem it is a little bit more than just round the corner …).
We live in Liechtenstein. As we wrote in the post, we are planning a tour in France for July. But there might be a chance to make a tour earlier: at Easter, we plan to go to the south of France for a couple of days. We are going to take the train to Orange, from where we are heading for about three hotels/ chambres d'h0tes. There we will stay for about three days and make tours in the area: Mont Ventoux, Provence … If you would like to join us for this trip, you are welcome and let us know.
Otherwise we could make a week-end-tour together before summer and share our ideas about a tour in July.

We are looking forward to hearing from you. Could you contact us on tandemtour@hotmail.de
Best regards and … bonne journée!!

M and K

I live in Provence and love riding up Ventoux. I am not sure if my stroker will be free in easter to ride the tandem then but I'l send you an email anyway.

My wife and I had planned to cycle for a few weeks in Provence this coming July. Unfortunately family events require that we travel back to the USA this July.

However, my wife and I are thinking about a week of cycling during her Spring break (9th – 17th April). Is this the same time period that you’re planning a Easter trip? I’m located near Catania Sicily, and was planning to spend the week cycling the Western part of Sicily. If your invitation is open to all for Spring break in Provence, my stoker and I might be interested. If not, have a great time cycling and enjoy the food & wine!

FYI my tandem team is 49/50, I road race my single bikes and my stoker enjoys fast recreational tandem riding.

Cheers,
C & A

Unfortunately my stoker only has her Spring Break days (9th – 17th April) off. It would have been nice to piggyback onto your France trip. Maybe another time! Hopefully the weather will improve the next few weeks, as the weather has been cold and wet in Sicily.

Enjoy your cycling holiday in France!

Cheers,
Geocyclist
