You can get the catalog here. https://www.pillarspoke.com/news.asp?num=4 It looks like they make a 2.5mm 2.3mm single butted spoke and a 2.5mm 2.3mm 1.8mm 2.0mm quadruple butted spoke and a 2.4mm 2.2mm 1.7mm 2.0mm quadruple butted spoke. I cut a 12 gauge spoke in half the 2.6mm elbow did fit in a shimano XT hub though the threaded portion would not. This company https://www.bdopcycling.com/Pillar-Spokes.asp has the lighter gauge 2.2mm 1.8mm 2.0mm triple butted spoke I think I will try these for the front wheel. I'm using the DT alpine 2.3mm 1.8mm 2.0mm spokes now https://share.ovi.com/media/currentre...resident.10049 they made the shaft at the elbow too long to make them compatible with wheel building machines though to my knowledge this has never been done. The question is do Pilliar's data agree with my calculations and the answer is yes. The 2.5mm 2.3mm single butted spoke had the same fatigue life as the 2.5mm 2.3mm 1.8mm 2.0mm quadruple butted spoke from this you can conclude both spokes broke at the elbow. Therefore for a 14 gauge spoke at the threads the elbow needs to be larger than 2.5mm to have an equal probability of breaking at the elbow as at the threads. The 2.2mm 1.8mm 2.0mm spoke lasted longer than the 2.2mm 1.6mm 2.0mm spoke therefore you can conclude the the 2.2mm 1.6mm 2.0mm broke at the center section. Therefore for a 14 gauge spoke the center section needs to be between 1.6mm and 1.8mm to have an equal probability of braking as the elbow and threads. Pillar has done a very good job with their 2.5mm 2.3mm 1.8mm 2.0mm quadruple butted spoke. It can be made lighter by reducing the 1.8mm section without reducing it's life and it can be made stronger by increasing it's 2.5mm section. I believe Pillar did it's homework they designed the 2.2mm spokes to fit in hubs with 15 gauge spoke holes so it looks like they made their 2.5mm spokes to fit in hubs with 14 gauge spoke holes.
