Pannier Rack Question?

My wife and I have started touring on our Co-Motion Speedster and have a question. Do you take off or leave on your front rack between trips? The rear rack we use quite frequently with a trunk bag.
Thanks!

We take the front rack off except when we need it for touring. We find it gets in the way and slows us down.

We usually leave the rear rack on - we do longer rides and appreciate having the rack with a trunk bag to hold rain jackets, snacks etc. We have several size trunk bags including one that has zip down mini panniers for even more storage.

Front rack comes off after the tour, unless you want to cultivate the "I'm a cool bike tourist" look and encourage conversations with other bikers about touring.

Front rack off, rear rack on.

Our front rack is permanently mounted on the steel fork of our Speedster, but we also have a carbon fork that we use when not touring. It's not much more difficult to switch the fork (both have crown races installed and steerers cut to the same length) than it is to remove / replace the front rack.

Our rear rack stays on all the time except when using the bike to participate in a cyclosportive / gran fondo ride (which is about once a year on the tandem, we offer prefer to use our singles for those events).
