Nonleaking insulated water bottle?
On my Cannondale RT2 the 2 bottles that are more horizontal always leak. I've tried Polar bottles and Camelbak Podium Big Chills; both leak during a ride. The latter do not leak before a ride, so I assume it is bumps that cause it to leak. Even tried brand new ones - never run through dishwasher - same thing. Problem is I use Gatorade in those bottles (Camelbak backpack for water) and the leaking causes a big sticky mess by the end of the ride. Is there a bottle anyone has that does not leak?

I've had polar bottles leak as well. I need to find a Celeste colored sports drink.

I've used polar for years and recently camelbacks and never a leak from any. Do you close the nipple on the polar before recaging it?

Just for grins try a few turns of teflon (plumber's) tape around the threads before putting the cap on. Won't take but a few seconds and can't hurt to try. Part of the problem may be expansion of the liquid as it warms up; might be hard to defeat that additional pressure.

As a test, I filled my Camelbak Podium and Ice bottles, and turned the valve to the Lock position.
First, a hard shake. Nothing leaked.
Next, a hard squeeze. They leaked around the threads when I had the tops tightened as usual. If I tightened them a little more, even a squeeze didn't leak.
(Turning the valve to Unlock, they will leak out the nozzle when shaken. But that doesn't sound like your problem.)
But other BF comments have also complained about leaks. I wondered if they had tightened the caps too much, distorting the cap, so it wouldn't seal correctly any more.
The threads don't seal the bottle. Only the lip at the top of the bottle seals against a ridge in the cap. So teflon wouldn't help. That sounded like a good idea, until I looked at my bottle.
A rubber ring that fit in the cap would work. But it would have to be the right size.

I've had my Podium bottle in the car (unlocked) when driving up a mountain. The lower air pressure makes the silicon valve whistle as air goes out of the bottle. But that's a lot less pressure difference than squeezing the bottle, which doesn't leak for me. And the water wouldn't expand enough to make a difference as it warms up.

I use the Camelbak Podiums and never have leaks. But perhaps I get the lids a little too tight.

I have used Polar and Camelback and they all leak and it gets worse as they age.
I am now trying Specialized Purist and it seems to be better but not sure if it leaks or not.
It isn't insulated but I am ready to give up on that.
