Della Santa Tandem

I have a Della Santa tandem , made in 1990-1. As far as I know, it is the only tandem Roland made. Mostly Campy Super Record w/ Suntour triple. Have the Campy double also. size is 61/56cm. Very responsive and nimble, a road racing tandem.

Any interest out there?

Della Santa has a lot of experience building singles. What do they know about tandems? I don't know.

Personally, I'd be leery of a one-off tandem. Did the builder borrow a jig from another tandem builder? If so, whose? Did he build a tandem jig just to build one tandem? If so, why? Years of tandem building experience generally, not always, but generally equate to years of refining of the end product. Or does the builder claim to have gotten it "absolutely perfect" the first time? Hmmmm.

Pictures would certainly be of interest though.

I'd love to see pictures! Roland Della Santa is one of a small handfull of absolutely top-notch framebuilders in the world. Any bike he built is going to have: 1. Top quality construction. 2. Impeccable craftsmanship. 3. An inordinate amount of thought put into design.

If it fit me and my stoker I would probably be begging you for it.

Please don't misinterpret my previous. No questioning of Della Santa's integrity here. Just his knowledge of the unique nature of tandem frame design if he'd never built one before.

Actually, if I remember right, Roland did make a track tandem for use in the Pan-Am games. My tandem was built specifically for road racing and was used aroung Reno for a number of years. Rides like a race bike, absolutely no wobble even at 60+ mph downhill.
