Convert fork mount to hold rear dropouts
Hi Folks --
I need some ideas on a simple way to convert a standard "truck bed" fork mount such as the picture below to hold the rear dropouts of a tandem with 145mm spacing. I see that 9mm works out to .354", so maybe some 3/8" all-thread (.375") would fit? Depends on how tight the tolerances are inside the fork mount. But with all-thread, there would be no quick-release, and it would be nice to have a quick release.
I could buy a replacement 145mm axle, but rear axles are 10mm, which is .394".
There are lots of fork mounts on the market, maybe someone knows one that would be easier than the others to convert.
Thanks!

Honestly, your easiest option may be the threaded rod.
Remove that 9mm QR. Run a drill down the QR bore and open it to 3/8". Pick up your length of threaded rod, 2 plain nuts, 4 wing nuts and 4 flat washers.
Mount the cut to length rod into the Bike Tight and secure with a plain nut on each side. On each stub end, install backwards a wing nut, a pair of washers and the second wing nut installed normal. Accomplish the same for the other side.
Use the wing nuts and washers to secure the dropouts. Almost QR but not quite.

I did the threaded rod thing for a quick fix but eventually bought a tandem quick release axle for easy in and out.
