Snap on fenders for temporary use during travel?

We'd like some plastic-like snap on fenders we can use on the occasional day during our trip that there may be some light rain. We saw another tandem that had the perfect product on their bike, but we don't know what it was and we don't know how to contact them. They said they were great for travel and easily packed in the bike suitcases. Any ideas?

Which model will be best depends largely on tire size and frame/fork design, so you'll have to give us some more info so that we can make relevant suggestions.

We've got a set of SKS Racer Blades that work OK. Not as good as full coverage, but better than nothing. I believe SKS has come out with a newer model that provides more coverage called the Racer Blade Long and also has some other more economical "clip-on" mud guards.

I looked for something that I could clip-on but never found anything suitable. I run a full SKS fender on the rear wheel all the time but only put on the front when we tour case we hit rain, berries, or goose crap... The main reason I don't leave the front fender on is transportation, since the front wheel has to come off to fit in the van.

+1 with SKS Racerblade, but the XL (longer) model. A good choice when you don't have much tire/wheel/frame clearance to spare and when full fenders won't pass through a 1.5mm gap

We have a newer da Vinci Global Venture (road tandem) with 31.8mm thudbuster seatpost in the back and a wound up 2 carbon fork, if that helps. We are just wanting something light and packable in bike suitcases to take for the "just in case" scenarios.

Dumb Q: if you are carrying them in cases on the bike; why not just leave them installed on the bike?

Packing the entire bike into two cases for flying.

We do not use fenders.
Have a rear rack with a trunkbag, that keeps stoker from getting road spray off her back.
Got caught in the middle of nowhere (Highway 89 between Cameron and Flagstaff) on a 200-mile loop by the Grand Canyon one year.
Horrendous rain; with fenders you would of gotten soaked from spray from trucks passing at 60 mph for about 50-some miles.
Threatened to drill holes in our shoes to let the water run out!
Laughed it off and when we hit Flagstaff we enjoyed a hot cupa coffee and pie!
Pedal on!

The tire size is the dimension that is the most important thing when choosing fenders, so it would be really helpful if you could give us that info. The description "road tandem" could mean anything from 23mm to 32mm width, and I would recommended something quite different for each of those sizes.

I have a pair of these that come on and off my utility bike as needed. Only the metal bracket for the front fender needs to stay on the fork.

Just came upon this older thread and I thought the OP might be interested in these. It seems expensive to me for what you get, but it may fit the bill.
