As beautiful as that is, I can only imaging how awful it would ride for a team our size.

Unless your team weight is sub 250lbs, I think that bike is going to ride and handle terribly. And by modern standards, it's going to shift and brake like crap.
Kinda cool nostalgia piece to tool around on, but that's about it.

That's my first thought every time I see one of these vintage bikes on eBay. The prices frequently seem way out of line with where I would value them just because the technology is so outdated. I'd be curious whether there really are collectors out there willing to pay more than a few hundred dollars for bikes like this.

Our old Bob Jackson is 56cm long in the stoker compartment and is quite cosy. This is 8cm less! Certainly can't imagine there being enough knee clearance to stand up.

Beautiful bike. However, it fits (sort of) in that category of one-off builders, and looks like it would really be "noodly" by current standards.

WOW, that is simply beautiful. And it appears to retain most of what would be it's original components,...except
maybe the rims. Sure, it won't ride like a modern bike, but then my old Paramount and early 70s Mercian were
pretty whippy,...materials and geometry have changed our expectations quite a bit.
Still, $1200 to get it home is a serious roadblock.

The captain's handlebar tape looks interesting. Is there anyplace (link?) that shows how to do that? Would look nice on my SS.

Brooks leather tape wrapped on is easier.

Definitley a C&V bike. Based on the seat stay caps, mid to late70's, outside, early 80's. Prior to 83 anyway.

Darn. At first I looked at it just out of curiosity. As I scrolled down picture after picture I wanted to ride it. When I finished I wanted to own it. Then my wife came in and aid I'd have to choose between her and it. Still thinking... Ouch!
