Kuwahara Tandem - Vintage dating with serial number?

l recently bought an old steel Kuwahara tandem with 27" wheels, and I am wondering if I can confirm how old with the serial number (T3J#### - I am pretty sure that the last 4 digits are the production number of my tandem). It does not follow the usual sequence posted for Kuwahara single bikes. Does anyone know the dating scheme for Kuwahara tandems?

Almost four years later, I think I have the answer to my own question. So just in case anyone else is interested, it seems that the serial number matches the format used for Kuwahara's BMX bikes (which I found here: kuwahara-bmx.com ): first letter indicates who made the frame - mine was made by Tange (other options, for BMX bikes were Kuwahara, Koizumi, Apollo and Giant) - next number is the last number of the year - mine was made in 1983) and the third character is the month of production - mine was made in October. As I expected, the four numbers that follow are sequential for the bike produced in that month. Curious that the road tandems were marked using the BMX format, rather than the usual road bike format.

If anyone else has a Kuwahara tandem, I would be interested to learn if their serial numbers indicate that all were made by Tange.
