Tour d'Italia Here I Come!
June 18th! I'll be going down there right after getting off work early on Friday. I hope it's not too hot like lately. This one is my favorite ride, I hope they have Pickle Juice again.

I never have done that one. But the randonneurs have a number of routes that start at Italy, so i've ridden in the area a fair bit. The very first 200k I ever did was there, left out at 5:00 AM to beat the heat.
Some of that area is pretty open and windy. One of our riders was telling me that the first time he felt like he had made it in cycling was when he did the Tour d'Italia and it was windy. He was cranking into the wind, and a rider got behind him and he didn't think much about it. But then when he finally pulled into the next rest area, it turned out he had 7 or 8 riders lined up behind him.
