"Indie" Bike Shops in Houston

Hey yall. I'm new to Houston and im in the market for a new kit. I love supporting local bike shops, and im wondering if you guys know of some cool "indie" type shops with nice kits. I've come across Ham Cycles just through some vague Google searches, but I'm wondering if there are any more around?

Also looking for some group rides and/or good route suggestions. I'm in the Memorial/Washington Ave area for the summer.

Best bike shop in Houston, in my opinion, is Daniel Boone on Crawford just south of downtown. There's another shop that some people like over by Memorial Park on Blossom: West End Bikes. Urban Bicycle Gallery on Nett near Shepherd and Washington. Many others.

I think Northwest is "independent" and they seem to support a lot of activities.

Welcome to Houston. There are a number of bike shops in Houston. I am not sure what you mean by "indie" but if you mean 1 location you can check the shop list on my website Texbiker.net. There is also an event calendar too for all of Texas.

Maybe Indie may not be the best word. I guess I'm mostly looking for somewhere with a cool shop kit. As I mentioned before, Ham Cycles has a nice looking "Shop Kit" (linked below). I much prefer buying the jersey and bibs branded by a store than by some major cycling apparel company.

HAM Cycles ? Products

Handlebar Cyclery is an awesome new shop in the Katy/Richmond area on FM1093. Nice kit. Great shop rides. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Where you live you gotta hit up west end bikes. Their kits are decent but the shop is second to none.
Also try blue line bike lab.
