Because it will not stop raining on the weekends!!

I have only been out on a Saturday once this year and I am feeling big time withdrawals.

You could get these 'Kleenfeet' fifty years ago to compliment your fenders and mud flaps. Maybe Boone's has some NOS.

It will be nice in the middle of the week, then the rain comes back by Saturday. Getting old.

So YOU are the reason we have a 50-60% chance of rain on Saturday? Better not let me catch you on those bikes...

BTW - where in Sugar land are you Faulker479? What sub division? Do you ride with the Society Bike shop on University Blvd? I think they have organized rides every Tuesday evening and Saturday mornings.

I am off of Bissonnet and HWY 6, but do ride out of Society. I am there almost every Tuesday night. I would be riding tonight, but my wife is going to be there riding with Jennie. That means I watch the little one.

Saturdays have been miserable weather-wise for riding. Then, Sundays have been stupid cold if they are dry. I need to get my butt on the bike and start logging miles. I just don't want to spend a bunch of time washing and cleaning my bike afterwards. Maybe thing will start to turn around. I bought a new jacket from Pactimo. Now that it arrived, logic dictates that the weather should be perfectly fine and I'd have no reason to wear it.

LOL, I just ordered some cold weather gloves because I rode with some freinds this past Sunday and my hands were frozen and yes, it hit 80 yesterday!

It's hard to decide to buy cold weather gear here. Most winters you barely get to use it. Last year I promised I would buy a warm jersey. One went on sale last summer and I splurged. So happy to have it this winter, but not as happy as I was to have a 72 degree ride on Wednesday.

They have a great beginner pace group that you can start out with. They call themselves the cheeseburger group. Or you can jump in with one of the other faster paced groups. The good thing is if you get dropped from a faster group, the next one wont be too far behind.

If the weather holds up tomorrow, you should join them.

Totally agree with this thread's sentiments. This past Saturday I said screw it, got a few of the boys together, and went out and did a century, rain be damned. By the end we and our bikes looked like we'd been in a CX race, but much fun was had, temperatures were great, and we had a good story to tell (and 8, yes 8 flats in a group of 4 riders.)

Right now, my bike is kind of disassembled for some maintenance. That means it should be sunny and 70 degrees outside!

Looks like rain in the forecast this weekend
I have a rear fender for my road bike so the fella behind me (and by back side) won't get too much of the spray, but the washing and cleaning the bike has been a PITA.
