Fort Worth area

I live north of Fort Worth in Blue Mound. Road cycling near me is interesting. I usually just ride nearby for exercise but it is getting dangerous and the scenery sucks.
Tomorrow I will checkout and ride the trail around Marine Creek Lake. It’s about 6.5 miles.
I know there is the Trinity Trail. From the trailhead by Bike Mart to downtown and back is around 15 miles-right?
Are there any scenic routes where I won’t be risking my neck just to ride?

Yes and I usually go from Martin House to the end of the trail passing Bike Mart and then back thru Gateway park heading back towards Dallas. The trail from the Trinity to Gateway has been closed for atleast a month due to the storms and downed trees and flooding. Hope that can be cleaned up soon as its a nice shady area to stop and enjoy the actions like disc golf.

Would be nice to get some of the FW riders posting here and recommending more of the nice trails and road rides.

Gateway will be fixed up very nicely with

$170 million in improvements

Hopefully the trail fixes are first on the list.

I ride the Trinity trail from the Clearfork Trailhead to downtown and back, but there is a lot more to the trail.
My local go-to trail is around Marine Creek Lake. It’s a 6 mile loop.
My next trail to try is the Cottonbelt from NRH to Grapevine.

Is the Trinity Trail completely paved from the Clearfork Trailhead past Panther Island all the way to the Stockyards, or would I need to ride on a street?

You can get MOST the way to the Stockyards completely paved without hitting the roads.
I have ridden it many times (on a MTB) so I just hit the gravel part and across the old rail bridge. I haven't had to take the roads yet so unsure how much road there is if you avoid the gravel/bridge.
Map looks like only about 3/4 mile
