Any good routes in the Denison/Sherman area?

Hey you damned Texans, My parents live around Pottsboro and I come down to visit every so often. I'd like to start bringing my bike and was wondering if there are any preferred routes you folks from the area can recommend...

That is only an hour from Dallas. Come ride with us. What size do you ride? If you can ride a 56 or 58 roadie, bring pedals and shoes and i will loan you a bike.

If you find a good route, let me know when you will be there and I will try to drive up there for a ride.

I ride a 60, shorty. I'll let you know next time I'm comming down and get the gumption to get up early enough on a Saturday or Sunday to get down to Dallas for a good ride.

If nobody here knows of a good route I'll keep searching the net and report whatever I find.

I have a book of rides in the Dallas area at home. Let me look in it and see if it has a Sherman/Denison ride. It is old so anything I find and send to you should probably be driven in a car first.

Did I give that book back to you or do I still have it? Either way, I think there were a few rides that started north of us. Then again there's always the PBA rides that start in Plano on the north side of Dallas.

I was lying to PUP. Never really intended to look for book, ride with him, or let him anywhere near my bikes, let alone my house and family!

Actually, Ryan is quite sick and I have not had the time to look for the book, but I will. Or you can llok for it at your place first and let me know if I am wasting my time looking at my place.

That's a wise decision, you lying bastard!

I hope Ryan gets better soon.

The area is covered up with great riding routes. Go to a big bookstore or office supply place like Staples and pick up a copy of "The Roads of Texas" and photocopy pages 41 and maybe 40. From Pottsboro you can go South for a long ways, especially if you don't mind a bit of gravel. West is cool, especially along the lake. East is a maybe depending on how you get past the built up area around Hwy 75, but once you get east of there it's great riding.

Yes, we do live in Denison & ride the area daily, including quite a bit around Pottsboro. Tell me what kind of mileage you are looking for & I'll supply some routes.
