well at least for west TX it is....hard to believe I rode on Thurs in shorts and a ss jersey!!...we've got ice on the trees and sections of the interstate are closed....looks like it will warm up to about 50 on Thurs, but another cold front is coming in for next weekend....I guess I can go the Y for a swim and then a steam...I guess it could be worse.

You're tellin me it's cold! It was 66 when I left work Friday afternoon. By the time the sun set 3 hours later it was in the 40's and dropping. Right now it's still raining on and off and the trees are starting to ice. I don't plan on going anywhere until I absolutely have to. Unfortunately that'll probably be around 7:00 tomorrow morning for work. I'd rather the weather stay nasty and cold now and be nicer later this spring when the rides start getting organized in March/April.

I made it into the office. Drove at about 25-30mph the whole way in though. Wasn't too bad as long as one was careful about sudden inputs of power, brakes and steering. Not much worse than if it was just wet though. Its crazy quiet around the office this morning though. Seems more than a few people have decided to make it a late morning if at all.

It was even cold in my exercise room this morning when I did my 45 minutes of spin.

My boss told my entire team to stay put unless we just had to get out so I am "working" from home I drive a company vehicle (a Chevy Astro van) and it handles like crap even when it's dry. I can't even imagine driving it on slick roads.

+a billion Actually it was just yesterday for me.

Just got told that we might be closing early today, and it might not be til noon tomorrow that we open the office again. Since I am one of the closest to the office, jokes were made that it doesn't apply to me. I then asked if it was ok to show up and work in my wetsuit, since I was planning on riding my bike tomorrow.

I drive from Ft worth to Richardson and it really wasn't too bad, I-70 by my house was the worst road of all of them...I think it took longer to scrape all the ice off my windows then it did to drive in.

I'm up in the DC area this week, and they have our weather. I stopped in a bike shop to see what the scene's like here, and they said they've been doing spring-like business due to the unseasonal warm temps.

I just wish I had my bike up here too.

I flew back from Va. on Friday, 70's when I got there a week before, dropped to 30's mid week.
70 Friday afternoon at DFW light rain. went to kroger came out and it was 44 freaking degrees.
stayed home yesterday, I don't mess with ice, especially on the new 121.
25 is my cut off for riding so I'll give it a try later today.

It's still F'en cold! I am going to New Orleans for a wedding this weekend. Some family was there over last weekend and it was in the 70's. Of course this weekend it is expected to be about 10 degrees warmer than the DFW area this weekend.

I think 25 degrees is the coldest I will ride in. I aint riding in a WIND CHILL either!

marty - I drove on the part of 121 from Grapevine to 35 yesterday it wasn't bad at all, and I was really worried about that overpass. It looked like overnight they had it closed, but by 8:30 am it was open.

Thought about riding in the cold yesterday, but a brief foray into the backyard to clean up after the dog changed my mind for me, real dang quick. If you rode Marty, more power to you!!

I'm watching the weather forcast for Saturday. I'm supposed to be riding a 200K out of Willow Park and right now the weather people say a few showers (30% chance) with a high of 44 degrees and NNW wind at 11mph.

I want to do the Brevet and made a committment to myself to ride a century every month this year so I'm hoping the forcast doesn't degrade any more than it already is. I'll take 50 degrees with no rain and skip the wind if I have to choose!

I actually rode for about 30 min yesterday in NRH. Wasn't too bad. I did make the mistake of going through a shaded area though. Paid the price with the bike sliding out from under me. Nothing damaged. Kinda stoved my left wrist for a little while, (once I got home and it warmed up.)

We got light snow in Richardson, maybe 1/4" of snow/sleet but enough to close the schools, so I am home being Mr. Mom.

I just arrived at the office (2hrs later than usual). More sleet falling in the Dallas area, but the roads are more or less drivable at VERY SLOW speeds. It's pretty slushy out there anywhere thats moderately traveled, and only the bridges/overpasses freeze back up quickly after getting broken up. I had more trouble with ice IN the parking garage than outside on the roads. Cars dripping water off them from the slush freezes on the inclines. OH SO MUCH FUN.

I stepped out a little while ago here in NRH and there's not a lot but just enough at the wrong temp to discourage making my necessary trip on my slick skinny tired bike. I don't want another fall and it would be nearly a guarantee.

Well it wasn't as bad as I thought once I got off of my street. Everything melted now.
