When did Houston Chronicle start a Cycling notebook in the Outdoor Section?
I don't normally read the outdoor section. In today's Outdoor section, there is a Cycling Notebook. Covers local stuff, and pro stuff.
Now that I have been shown the way out form under the rock I've been living in... Does anybody know when did H3ll freeze over? |
link please. can't find it anywhere...
|
Here ya go, was too freaked by the hardcopy to think of looking for a link...
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5596322.html Link is missing a date of local and pro events coming up that the actual paper has. |
I like it when it appears. I think it is only in there every other week. :-(

I like this! Thanks for the link. It's disappointing that it's so hard to find though. I've now figured out that "Outdoors" is under "Sports", but today all I can find on the Outdoors page is Hunting and Fishing. It would be nice if there was a permanent link you could check.
From the news at the link, I saw Bill White on my MS150 training ride last week. He's a pretty nice guy. He parked with the rest of us, stood in line to use the port-a's like the rest of us, and just chatted with people. |
The Chronicle used to run a "cycling notebook" column on Thursdays year around. It was very informative. Around MS150 time they would have a training schedule for novice, intermediate, and experienced riders similar to what they do for the marathon with a list of training rides, routes and races. They also ran stories about local clubs and competitive riders. They did away with it last year when they changed "formats" and needed more space for girls middle school soccer player of the week and texas hold'em results. Thats about the time I canceled my subscription. I'm glad they decided to bring it back.

Houston Chronicle/Dale Robertson/Ride of Silence
Robertson covers the Tour de France for the Chronicle and does a good job...I'm wondering if there is going to be a Ride of Silence in Houston this May...several cities in Texas are going to participate...

Bill White is the mayor of Houston, not the freaking President. Plus, I don't care who you are...your not cutting in the restroom line.
