Can We Please Start a For Sale Or Trade Sticky?

I recently sold two mountain bikes in good condition (at good prices) on CL within a day or two of listing them. I wish I could have offered them here first. I'm about to list a tall Raleigh Grand Prix frame in very good condition, I have Bontrager handlebars, stem, seat post and other assorted goodies I'll be putting on CL within the next week at very good prices. I have what I would call throw away parts that I plan to sell for next to nothing on CL. I would MUCH rather offer these to forum members here who I learn from and enjoy reading than offer them to strangers on CL or Ebay.

I know selling items seems to be a sensitive subject on some forums but come on man, that sort of thing helps the community and also encourages people getting to know one another outside of the interwebs. it also promotes bike riding :-)

I know without a shadow of a doubt many people here have things they plan to sell on CL or Ebay that I'd want. I would rather trade with you guys than CL strangers and as far as selling things goes I don't have a problem selling things on CL but I would rather list those things here *first* and then use CL when everyone here has passed on them.

So, what does a feller have to do to get an official For Sale or Trade sticky in the Texas forum? :-)

Thanks

Chris

You can always post a link to items you have for sale, or even a note about an item you are selling in your sig. This is one way that non paid members can "post" for sale items outside the FOR SALE section of the forums.

It will show up no matter where you post.

Thanks if we cannot get a for sale/trade sticky then I might try that. I would not mind being a paid member here, I'm not sure what that gets me but I would not use the for sale forum because I'd rather sell local where someone can see what they're buying, I'd prefer to buy local for the same reason.

I will post a link to this thread in the moderators forum and get a ruling on what is and is not allowed.

I know that road cycling has this for trade thread

https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=158981

Stay tuned.

I like the idea. Having a Sticky in our Texas community is good because many will be local, possibly avoiding shipping time/costs.

Thanks very much! I'll add some trade items today or tomorrow. I just need to snap a few photos.
