(Houston) cycling barker dam?

so, when you take westheimer to george bush park, there's a serious hill to climb, the crest of which has a... path going either way.
i /think/ that's the dam. it looks... kind of cycleable. is it doable? legal? hard?

I have done that dam many times on my cyclocross never had a problem even when personnel was driving up there. I don't know whether it is truly allowed or not but never had a problem and seen many other cyclist mostly on mtb's. A road bike with thin slicks is probably possible though I don't ride it unless I got at 700x28's at least it is just to bumpy and rocky for thinner in my opinion, not that it is not possible. I am planning on doing the bear creek damn tomorrow have passed it many times off of clay rd. not sure how that's going to be it will be a first.

The section of that dam along HWY6 and the section that parallels I10 is highly traveled. I believe it is public use.

I used to cycle around the whole thing, several laps at a time, training for MS150s. The part that runs along HWY 6 and I-10 is a little less rocky (at least since the last time I was there which was 5 years ago). The whole loop that runs you through George Bush Park and through the reservoir is about 14.6ish miles, I think. It's a tough ride, especially when it's windy. I used to do it on my mountain bike.
