Love the endurance series - although some of the formats sound like absolute misery (90 lappers, etc).

See you out there.

No, since the track is on the community college property, alcohol isn't allowed. I have seen people in the stands drinking from insulated bottles though - probably just left over Cytomax from their rides that day

oh... so it's a "dry" campus then

surely one of the most strictly followed rules of collegiate institutions across the country

My darling freshman assures me that at her school there are never any parties, no one drinks, and she and her fellow soccer team mates spend the evenings reading, studying, and discussing philosphical issues.

Really

Meet n' greet at the drome sounds good to me. Hopefully this time we can do without
the kamikaze bugs.

Is there a schedule of events? Sprints? Pursuit? Devil takes the Hindmost? Madison? Endurance sounds a bit vague and 90 lap scratch racing doesn't sound like the type of racing that attracts new spectators.

I swung by with the family. Strongly considering the certification class on Oct. 10th, 8am-1pm. Would be fun, but do I really need another time and money pit?

No need to put serious money into it yet. The development class is $25 including the bike (bring your own helmet, shoes & pedals if you can.) After that you can rent a track bike for $5 a session and your track time is included. That's great value for money. Come on out and try the track. You'll enjoy it and meet some good people.

The rental bikes are nice GTs, in good shape and will give you all you need to get out there and enjoy and improve yourself. New riders are especially welcome!

Nice program of racing last night. Andrew Armstrong looked seriously strong and was dishing out the pain. I left before the Madison. The only negative of the night was that one jerk with the tats all over who, after getting pulled from the miss and out, cursed loudly several times and threw his helmet, almost hitting one of the junior riders. Totally uncalled for. But get past that, and it was a beautiful night of racing.

sorry to hear there was some bad attitude out on the Track last night. Agreed that is totally uncalled for. I was thinking of heading out there, but was (and still am) feeling under the weather and opted for plenty of sleep. Wasn't enough to get me on the bike this morning unfortunately.

Who's up for a BF's cheering section next Friday?

Well, it was only one turd in the bunch. The rest were a bunch of guys and kids riding their hearts out and it was a great night. I just wish the officials would have seen that turd, but they were a bit short handed and doing the best they could. Can't blame them. Blame the turd. I did hear one of the riders in the infield chastize him. Good on 'em for policing their own.

Not sure about next Friday. Will know later in the week. We need a way to identify all of us from BF.

I did see Mr. Gacki the OP racing. What crankset and chainring is on your Cervelo? And did Andrew A. have an SRM crank?

Cheers!
Brit

Hey Brit,

Glad you could make it out to watch....I am currently using a Dura Ace track crank 170mm in length....all of the chainrings that I use are FSA........and you are correct, my good friend and teammate Andrew Armstrong does use an SRM track crankset.

Mike,

No issues with the 170s on that track? I've usually preferred 165s on the steeper tracks (oh hell, all of them! ) but some strong guys like 170s as well. I'm more thinking about banging pedals in a match sprint than actual torque.

FSAs, thanks. From the stands I couldn't tell if they were Miche (Which I doubted) or maybe black Zens.

Will you be traveling to Nationals this week? If so, all the best!

Should we look for the BF flag flying above the recumbent?
