2nd Austin on Two Wheels social ride series announced for June

In a followup to our popular Spring Urban Living Rides, Keith Byrd and I have teamed up again to put together a new five ride series for summer. The Discover the City on Two Wheels Summer Social Ride Series (http://livingontwowheels.com/) includes variations on some of the spring rides with new stops as well as some new rides we’ll think you’ll enjoy. Plus just like the first series, we’ll be giving away lots of discounts and gift certificates as well as drawing for an Electra Amsterdam Royal 8 at the end of the series.

Downtown Culture Cruise

Saturday, June 5

The Downtown Culture Cruise is the kickoff of Austin On Two Wheel’s five part Summer Social Ride Series and is being held in partnership with Jude Galligan’s Downtown Austin Blog. The guided ride will include stops to look at some of downtown’s hottest condos as well as food and shopping stops to sample downtown living. Stops will include food and drink at Froots in the 2nd street district and a vehicle presentation by Austin CarShare. Whether you are looking to move downtown, learn more about living an urban lifestyle, or just want to see some great properties, this ride is going to be a lot of fun.

Taste of Downtown II

Wednesday, June 9

A variation on our most popular ride from our spring social ride series, we’ll take in more of the best locally made food our town has to offer. This time stops will include great burgers samplers at Your Mom’s Burgers, Latin American cuisine at El Sol y La Luna, and dessert at Tart Frozen Yogurt. Vegetarian options will be available.

Eastside Home Tour

Sunday, June 13

Austin on Two Wheels is partnering with Holly neighborhood and Buy By Bike realtor Tiffany Russell to show off this affordable, livable neighborhood just minutes from downtown. Stop will include restored original homes as well as more recent green additions and condos. A food stop will be provided by the Shuck Shack with stops as some additional neighborhood businesses and a brief presentation from Austin CarShare. We'll end up back at Hope Market once the market is open for a selection of organic fruits and vegetables and locally made products.

The Pampered Pedal II

Wednesday, June 16

In our first series, the Pampered Pedal was especially well received, and we’ve come back with a new evening version that includes private shopping at some of our stops. We’ll be stopping to shop at two women owned stores, The Dress Shop and Plain Ivey Jane, as well as few others we’ll be announcing later this week all of whom will be offering shopping specials for Pampered Pedal participants. You can shop all you want because our ride guides will be riding cargo bikes to carry your purchases. Black Swan Yoga will keep us loose and relaxed mid-ride with a yoga session, and we’ll end up with a white wine reception at the end of the ride.

BBQ & Barton Springs Ride

Wednesday, June 23

We are still putting the finishing touches on this ride and will have more details and open registration by the end of the week. Needless to say it involves eating great barbeque and swimming in Barton Springs. This one’s going to be great!

All the rides are all inclusive and fully staffed by our professional ride guides. Food and drink, bike valet, and our series partner business coupon book are included in tour registration, and once again we’ll be giving a $5 discount when you register with a friend. To avoid the summer sun, we are shifting our rides to weekend mornings and week day evenings this time around. Dutch city bikes available for rental on tours, and we’ll have bike lights for sale during the evening rides in case you need one.

We hope to see you in June!
