new----Fort Worth Critical Mass- June 25 2010 7pm

Hey all. We are planning an all new fort worth critical mass for the last Friday of the month at 7pm.
Meet up is at Burnett Park right at 7th and Lamar in downtown fort worth.

We are hoping for a decent turn out and we are hoping to see a lot of new bikey faces from the Fort. This will be a casual paced ride and will loop around the city with a stop for food and drinks at the end. We are planning a 15-20 mile route.

Critical Mass...
We are doing things a little differently here in FW.
We have a planned route, we aren't trying to piss drivers off,
we are not about disobeying traffic laws or being jackasses.
But we do have some goals: To raise bike awareness in FW and show people there is more than just a few of us. That biking is a realistic means of transport in FW.
And to bring people together with one common intrest and love, bikes.

Please come out and show Fort Worth that it is becoming a c
great cycling city and help us build a better, stronger bike community in the Fort.

We are hoping for 100 bikes at this first round of the all new CM.
Only you can make that a reality.
We've chosen a centrally located meet up with free parking near by after six pm,
for anyone driving in.
Look for us and add us on facebook!

Cycling is entering an exciting time in Fort Worth. It's already quite possible to get from point A to point B on a bike (I do about 17 miles each way to work, about .2 miles on "busy" streets). The social infrastructure is gaining momentum between bloggers, Critical Mass, Bike Friendly Fort Worth and the local shops & clubs.

If you're in FW and thinking about getting around on a bike, there are increasing opportunities for fun events.

This is how the one in Houston ended up for one guy. haha what an idiot. I really hope the Critical Mass there is more respectful than the one here. Ive ridden in the last two and these people are doing the opposite of what the 'mission statement' implies.

Ours turned out great! We had over 60 riders and tried to be as respectful of our surroundings as possible.
Some lights did get tricky but we were able to keep the group together and not upset any motorists.
We are hoping the next one on the 30th of this month will be bigger and even more exciting!
Here's some pics from local photographers who showed up!
