Austin- Anyone ride Parmer at night?

This may be a dumb question, and maybe I should just go out there and do it, but I was wondering if anyone rides Parmer Lane (around 1431, HW 29, etc.) at night.
What are your experiences like? Do you feel pretty safe?
I've been wanting to ride more lately, but it's been tough with all the darkness.

If it helps, I've got a pretty decent light set-up and a reflective vest (this makes me invincible, right?)

Man I dunno... there have been fatalities on that road during daylight hours. Can you find a neighborhood or office park and do laps instead, or hit the trainer?

I am not that brave, even with a vest of invincibility. I'll ride it all day long, but not at night. I hate driving my car on Parmer at night.

For night rides, I will do laps around Block House Creek (2.5 mile loop with bike lane and street lights) or around Crystal Falls for hills.

Too lazy I suppose, I have to be at work by 8 (and I do actually bike to work, so I get a little bit of riding in). Maybe I give a try sometime soon.

I've done it a couple times in the summer when I was avoiding the heat. It was nice, just have a good light and watch out for deer.

Hammerhead bike shop sponsors a night ride out Parmer on Thursdays I think... It's mainly a MTB type of crowd, and I'm not sure how often they do it but you can check on their website forum.

I live pretty close to Parmer, on Amherst, and I have been using parmer to ride in the last few weeks. I prefer to ride it at night due to low traffic, and I haven't really had any problems or scary moments so far. I start at amherst and ride to to 620 and back. The shoulder is pretty wide mostly so you can ride in about the middle and still have a pretty smooth road. I JUST starting riding again and really the only safety gear I have is a rear flashing red light and a reflective vest. So far I have no fear riding on Parmer at night. My goal is to get to 1431 and back to amherst without passing out on the side of the ride but that might take a while I usually start my ride about 9:30 ish
