I rode my bike this morning...Bad Idea

I go inside to read for a few hours and when I come out my bike is frozen. Had to pry my brake levers open before I took off. Entire frame has a thin layer of ice on it. I'd rather sweat like a cow than freeze like a penguin any day.

You are a braver person than I. I was on calls from 7-9 this morning and could feel the temp drop in my home office as the front blew through (and the wind was incredible). Outside temp went from 45 to 25 in less than an hour. I really hope this is the last arctic front, I am really tired of the cold!

Here in Dallas, we had freezing rain, sleet, etc. Got the roads icy this morning, they're mostly okay now, except for patches here and there, but I think I'll wait until tomorrow before I get the bike out on it.

My bike was fine outside yesterday and today no ice accumulation though last week there were some ice issues with the bike and was pretty much covered in ice. One side of the rims were covered which was no biggie I learned last year fixed is the way to go in below freezing temps the freewheel kept freezing up in below freezing temps, really an odd feeling to freewheel both forward and backwards. No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get all the ice off the saddle where the kevlar sides are, usually I worry about mud butt I had ice but that day.
