Sunscreen

I ride for hours in the Texas sun. I am looking for a Broad Spectrum sunscreen that will last the longest. The less chemicals the better. Thanks.

I've been using Coppertone Ultra Sport for several years now. It's not the most 'natural' by pretty much anyone's criteria, but it does do the job and stay in place. For the most part though, the best thing to do is get off the roads in out of the sun by noon or so.

I have been using Banana Boat 80/100 SPF. I was even using it in a recent trip to Nortwest New Mexico (Chaco Canyon). This is a 6,000 foot elevation and the park has almost no shade. I was in the sun for the entire day and this stuff allowed me to maintain my lily white complexion.

for arms and legs, consider "arm coolers" like these:

several brands available for arms and legs, most have a upf of 45-50+

for head / ears, some of the head covers provide good coverage, leaving only the face needing lotion

I use bull frog spray gel on arms/neck/back, bull frog gel for face (regular kinds make my face break out), and some regular 30 spf on my legs since the hair soaks up a lot.

Neutrogena SPF 30 Moisturizer: I put it on every morning and it has worked wonderfully as a basic sunscreen. If I know I'll be out in the sun I put an SPF 70 (any brand) over it, face and body. Because I am so freakin' white, I reapply every couple of hours. And wear a hat/visor.
