Thanks for that nice neat list. I printed that out.
I went on the first ride yesterday. Lots of fun. Too bad we can't have a police escort all the time! Here's the group shot:

Wow, there you are showing off your Celeste at the front of the group! They wrote it up in the paper too: Fort Worth mayor hosts rolling town hall meeting. The comments are typical h8ters and a few supporters.

I saw the article first thing this morning. Hadn't read the comments, though. I'm afraid I'll get ticked off if I do.

Most of the h8ter comments were nothing to do with cycling; just people who have a bone to pick with Betsy. One person did accuse her of not being an adult because she rides a bicycle. My thought is, he doesn't know what he's missing.

I went and read the comments after my last post. Yes, it appears several people were using the thread as a place get attention for their own causes. Others complaining that this isn't any kind of "town hall meeting". I do agree with that second point. But the fact is, she likes to ride, just as we do, and a high profile individual like the mayor is probably much safer and better off riding with a group than on her own. The fact that it keeps her in personal contact with some of the residents is just gravy. I'm actually surprised that someone in such a busy position can find the time to ride.

She has a staff that helps her do a lot of the mundane work of the office. Also, she has a bodyguard (police officer) who also serves as a driver for her (in a vehicle donated for mayor's use by one of the local dealerships). This saves a lot of time.

I hadn't read the comments before I read this thread. What a bunch of morons. They make us sound like Arlington.

Vain, But Lacking Talent
I'll have to make one of these rides! Maybe next Wednesday I can swing out that way.
