Goat Neck is this weekend. I'm not ready to ride it but it's starting to get pretty big.

I normally do this one every year--it's a great ride. Can't do it this year. Plus, it's the 25th anniversary. I REALLY wanted one of those jerseys.

I've done it a couple of times, but the Tour de Cure is this weekend, and I'm riding it.

We have Goatneck permanent and brevet routes that cover some of that territory, and the Texas Time Trials runs on a 26 mile loop in there, so I've been over some of those hills a few times. (And the first time I rode it, was on my Worksman Cruiser.)

That reminds me of a story unrelated to the ride. I was riding around the Time Trial loop on my Worksman cruiser, got over on FM 56, and it was hot and I was out of water. I stopped at one house there, knocked on the door, no answer. Rode on a ways, and after a bit, an attractive lady in a convertible pulls up and asks if I need any water. Wow, can't beat that! She had a big cooler in the back seat, was evidently making the beer run into town, and drained me off a bottle or two of ice water from the cooler.

More correctly referred to as "The Goatneck."

Also colloquially known as "The World Rally Championship Of The World"

I'll be there. Trying not to get caught up in all the high speed packs.
