Velo Orange Campeur on eBay

Here it is.

I'm probably going to end up with something vintage--leaning very strongly in that direction. But this appears to be a pretty attractive deal. I'm a newb with a couple other threads here, which will prove that, but I've generally heard/read good things about Velo Orange. As far as I can tell, they only sell as frames, and this frame goes for >$500 by itself.

EDIT: Just went back to the VO site and it looks like this bike was built as one of their build kits which are priced @ $634.00. Doesn't look like any of the other components--wheels, etc. come from VO--maybe the shifters? Any ideas on the complete build cost?

Thought I would post here for comments and add to my education. Also in case someone else might want it. Only 22 hours left and I don't know if $600 would meet whatever reserve there--maybe not?

STP

If the bike fits and you want/need that bike, the starting bid is a fair price for that bike. These are good quality, mid-priced components which are very suitable for a touring build.

That auction has no reserve.

That's a nice bike if you could get it for the opening bid.

It would cost about $1000-1200 to put that bike together.

Update: more information from the seller. Only 5 hours left and one bid. I'm not going to buy it, so posting this as info for anyone here who might have an interest.

"First of all, thanks for posting the link about the bike. The more exposure the better. The bike was built from a few different sources. The crank was a take-off from a Surly long haul trucker and was never used - (brand new) as was the bars and brake levers and shifters I can't remember if the derailleur came from the LHT but it is in excellent condition. The wheels were a take-off from a Trek 520 touring bike, never used. For all intents and purposes this is a new bike. The stem is used and the saddle but they are in such good condition and they can be replace so easily it just doesn't matter.
