Good app for giving your location?

What is a good iPhone app for showing your location while touring?

Not sure for touring or for with an iPhone, but locally I use Glympse when I want to show my wife or a relative where I'm currently at. It sends either a text or email link to a map page which shows location based upon the phone gps, and you can set it for a time span. Shows location, route taken, and current speed.

Whats wrong with a Map ? try Orienteering for the skills in a contest setting..

Or Bring your map into a bar, Order a beer , and showing the map, have someone point to where you are..

and get to talk about your trip,

Just use the included Maps application to show your location.

If you're actually asking a different question than the one you wrote above, a bit of clarification would be in order.

Are you asking to know where you are or to show someone else where you are?

I have an iPhone and use Pocket Earth to show me where I am without having to have internet connectivity. It will also display detailed maps that you have to download (for free) before hand. The app is a few bucks.

To show others where I am, I use TrackMyTour. You can set waypoints without internet connectivity but have to post to the internet for others to see.

it's pretty easy actually. you just need your friend's phone number!
(and area code and country code, if applicable)

try this:

1. locate self on map.
2. call friend or associate.
3. wait for friend to answer.
4. say loudly and clearly "yo, dude, i'm in hoboken!"
4. say goodbye.
5. hang up phone.

give it a try!

now....anyone got a good ap for list numbering?

As long as you have an app to pull your location every 5-10 minutes, Google's Location History site is an excellent way of getting where someone is and it's built into Android already. :)
