Lake XL SPD sandals fitting question

Greetings,
Tried on the Shimano 47/48s today and (bummer) they were a bit too small. Wondering if anyone out there with big feet has had success with the Lake XL. I've heard that (1) the Shimanos run small and (2) that the Lakes run big.

For reference, in the Shimanos my toes barely went over the edge.

Thanks!!

I don't have Lake, but I do have Shimanos. Why can't you just go a size up on your Shimano's?

unfortunately the 47/48s (shimano's largest) are a tad too small. otherwise it would be no problem.

Hmmmm... sorry. Couldn't you call Nashbar and see what size Lake would be about the same as the next step up from the Shimano's largest sandal size?
