One week to go!
I am officially one week away from my departure date for the UK, where I will be riding a modified version of the Lon Las Cyrmu (LLC) across Wales. Modified in the sense that I'll be starting in Chester, with two extra cycle days thrown in. I start riding a week from Friday (the 24th).
My route is as follows:
Day 1 - Chester to Rhyl
Day 2 - Rhyl to Bangor
Day 3 - Tentative Bangor Loop
Day 4 - Bangor to Harlech
Day 5 - Harlech to Machynlleth
Day 6 - Machynlleth to Rhayader
Day 7 - Rhayader to Brecon
Day 8 - Brecon to Cardiff
I'll be updating both my Wordpress and CrazyGuyOnABike blogs while I am over there (pictures may come once I get back to the states).

Sounds nice, you'll be ready for the Tour de France after those hills! Wales doesn't get much attention in US tourism articles but it looks quite scenic & bucolic.

Indeed. I like that rugged, ancient look...I loved Ireland and expect Wales to be quite similar. My dad, who passed away a few years ago, was born and raised in Cardiff, which is one of the reasons I am doing this ride. My grandparents (deceased) lived in Chester too, but I don't think I've been back there in the last 15 or so years. My nerves are getting up now that I am 4 days away from departure and I feel like I have so much stuff left to do to get ready!
