Traveling partner for Southern Japan in December
I plan on touring from Tokyo south(to avoid the snow/ice) to Cape Sata (Sata Misaki) then jump on a ferry to Yakushima for a week of Hiking/Riding, during Dec and mabye into Jan. I intend to take camping gear, but may spend a night in a cheap hotel or guest house every so often. I dont plan to take any cooking gear, since food is really cheap in Japan. I am 25, Australian, and speak a bit of Japanese.
If you are interested in joining me just let me know, I would be very happy to find someone or mabye even a couple of people to go on this tour with.

Why don't you tell us a little bit about your touring style ... the distance you like to ride in a day, whether you like to make lots of stops to take photos and check out tourist attractions or not, what kind of accommodation you prefer at night (wild camping, camping in campgrounds, hotels), what time in the morning you like to start, and things like that.
It's good to know those things before you set off on a tour with someone.
Also have a look at what tours people have planned this year:

Food: Food is cheap in Japan so just plan to buy all my food
Speed: I don't mind if we cruise at 20km/h, I am capable of cruising at 28km/h if my travel buddy wants a speedy tour.
Stops: If there is something to see or do I intend to stop a lot, if its a day when there is not much to see or do, I don't plan to stop that much, it all depends what's around, but im pretty easy
Daily distance: 80km+ it depends on what there is to see and do on each day of the tour (the most I have ever ridden in one day on tour is 320km)
Bike: I want to try out my new touring bike I have a Kona Sutra, but I plan to take my new Carbon bike, in a bike packing style.

I live outside of Tokyo. I might be interested. Will be 60 at that time but still can do some 200 Km. days on my carbon road bike.

We were just in Yakushima and the road on the west side is washed out until sometime next year, probably spring. We got stopped at kurio and had to retrace back to the ferry port.
