2016 Cannondale Touring Ultimate

I tried to purchase an upgraded membership to use classifieds but the site said none were available?

Its a beautiful bike, I just don't get Cdale's use of a compact double and a 32t cassette. Their older touring bikes weren't anything like the new couple of offerings.

It ain't no LHT! My take is that this is a bike for the light and fast crowd.

I agree. I loved the old Cannonade touring bikes and was excited when they started making them again. After seeing the new offerings though, I am not interested. I can't imagine touring with a 50/34 and a 32t cassette.

Even the Touring 2 isn't well geared: https://roadcyclinguk.com/gear/first...tVCkrseElJh.97 My first touring bike was the Cannondale T700. It had MTB gearing. IIRC, low gear was a 22x34. Loved, it especially since I carried a lot of weight on my first tour thanks a lot of camera equipment. Bike and gear weighed 90 lbs. according to a truck stop scale.

Wouldn't trust that '56' to have a lot of meaning in Fit Because of the steep slope of that seat tube ,
and seat Tube length is called "size".

but since it's Craig's List You would Go There and test ride it before handing over your Money..

As a Commuter with rear panniers there is little likelihood you would Kick Them pedaling ..

If that is the ultimate touring bike they can make than I have a suggestion for what they build for their pro-road teams: Flat bars with a very upright profile and a big heavy plastic windscreen to help with aerodynamics.

I wouldn't want to tour on that myself. However I might test ride it anyway just to see what it is all about.

The T700 was a great bike. Since I couldn't get a Cannonale when I was buying, I got the LHT. The 22x34 on the T700 was great. I really wonder why Cannonale didn't go with that gearing when the y introduced the new bikes. I would immediately have to change the gearing upon buying.

These were my concerns as well but it outperformed my expectations. I only bought this to do one tour which is why I'm selling it but I'm certainly tempted to keep it and do more trips.
