Touring cameras?
In the past I've used both a small polaroid xs-100 (that was very low quality and glitchy) as well as a larger Pentax MX-1. now for the sake of space and efficiency I was thinking about spending a little more and getting a gopro possably the sessions model.
What kind of camera do you use on tour?please share your photos and videos. |

I took the photos I posted here http://www.bikeforums.net/touring/10...equipment.html with a Nokia Lumia smartphone.
The only other camera I've taken in recent years is a now out of date (but still good) Canon PowerShot A460 because it takes 2xAA batteries and has an optical viewfinder which I prefer. |
I'm looking at the GoPro Hero+ for my upcoming tour. It looks like the best bang for my buck. The still camera is passable for close range photos and the video is up to 1080. I'm planning on using a head/helmet mount and maybe, if I feel the intense urge to kick my own ass, a selfie stick. My God... I never thought I would ever type those words. Excuse me, I need a drink.

I used a Ricoh GR compact camera for a few years. It was fantastic. Since I had some flexibility in my settings beyond that of a "typical" compact camera, with dedicated controls for everything from exposure to macro to user presets, I really found it to be an effective tool for creating really great photos.
I loved that it weighed less than a DSLR. https://maxthecyclist.files.wordpres...5/dsc_0002.jpg I recently switched to a Micro 4/3 camera, the Olympus OM-D E-M5, with interchangeable lenses and a viewfinder, and I like the viewfinder a lot. I carry two lenses, a small telephoto and a 35mm prime equivalent. Good all-around lenses for a good all-around camera, which as a bonus is weather-sealed. I got a Gopro Hero (the basic one) for christmas, so I'll mount that up for some fun on a few day trips and see how I like it. A chest mount was $5, which seems ludicrously inexpensive. |
Costs have come down a lot so , you can get one that is OK fit for purpose Vivitar is a Brand that is good.
or one that is prestigious .. Leica Canon , is what the pros use I used 35mm film cameras but now every thing went digital ..Pentax was OK in Film their digital one failed Me. & i havent gotten to excited about snapshots of late.. |
