that's a 9 feet by 12 feet taro I bought at the local TSC store. It's a farming/hunting supply store.
Cheers

ALPS Meramac 2 that arrived today from Campmor and this is its maiden erection, so to speak. I'll be using it on my TransAm ride this summer and I hope to give it lots of use but I set it up on my deck as a trial. Great deal on a freestanding clip-in tent.

I started out with the REI Minimalist with a little half tarp to pitch over the head end, but went to lighter options. I now use either the Borah Side Zip or the Ti Goat Ptarmigan Bug Bivy depending on the climate and expected weather. They are 7 ounces and 5.5 ounces respectively. I typically carry a 7 ounce Siltarp 1 as well, but only pitch it if I expect rain. If it rains unexpectedly I just pull the tarp over me.

They are quite light, but they are quite different. I like them, but can see where everyone else may not. To me the OR is more of a bivy tent. The REI minimalist is somewhere in between, but probably closer to the OR in most ways (no hoop though).

I like them a lot. I don't like small spaces so wouldn't go with anything smaller than one of the OR ones. Plenty of headroom. The bug bivy had a loop at the foot end. I don't believe the Helium one does but it's not necessary in that one.

BTW, on some trips I cowboy camp on top of the bivy more than I climb inside. In those cases I do not pitch the tarp either. I climb in when I need protection from the bugs or wind or if I just need a bit more warmth.

I wouldn't necessarily call them less roomy. They are big and floppy, so there is room and they move with you. The sensation is hard to describe but quite a bit different than something like the OR Helium the REI Minimalist, both of which to me feel more like a tiny tent and as a result more subject to the closed in feeling.
BTW, on some trips I cowboy camp on top of the bivy more than I climb inside. In those cases I do not pitch the tarp either. I climb in when I need protection from the bugs or wind or if I just need a bit more warmth.

I don't have any photos of my bivy in action, only my hammock. I have some of it set up in my room when I slept in it for a night as a test but that's all. I'll post some set it up in use after I leave for my tour in May. I can post the ones from my room if you'd like to see those.

It's an absolutely gorgeous park, and the ocean-front campsites are pretty incredible. The tent is an MSR hubba hubba NX: I like it, but it's way to heavy for the ultralight crowd (which I'm definitely not part of!) But it packs up to a pretty small size and it's got enough room for 2, which is important as my wife sometimes joins me on my adventures.

REI Dome (quarter dome?) in Versailles, IN - it's a pretty good light use tent. used it a bunch for multi-day backpacking, overnighter bike rides

Mine is an inexpensive Coleman. It's a fairly light, two person tent which is tall enough I can actually walk into it.
