Tires for a Fuji Touring

What are the largest tires I can put on a fuji touring with a 700cc frame?

That depends mostly on two things:
1. The width of the rims
2. The width of the fork

It can also depend on the width of the seat stays or the amount of clearance between the tire and the down tube, but you usually run into problem #1 or #2 first.

I used to have a Fuji Touring, but I got it nine years ago and the stock wheels have since changed. At a glance, they look similar. My unscientific guess is something like 700x45 should fit OK, but not much more. You might have a hard time finding good options above 700x40 though. And if you're sticking to pavement, you don't need anything wider, probably not even that wide.

An equally good question: for what purpose do you plan to use your cool touring bike?

Do you plan on mounting fenders?

The best way to tell is trial and error. I have a 2006 fuji touring; I doubt I can fit a 700 x 45c.

The fenders on my Fuji touring work with 35, but the horizontal dropout makes it difficult to mount a wheel with fully inflated 37 tires.
