Depending on the spoke count you want you might also want to consider DT Swiss 350. It only comes in 32 hole and less versions, but it's a bit cheaper and the ratchet system is better than hope's. Also the bearings the 350 uses are more readily available as they are pretty generic.
The 17287-2RS bearing Hope uses a lot is usually quite expensive and used to be extremely difficult to find. Now it seems however that there are new players in town who have cheaper models for said bearing available. But still I'd wish they used more generic bearing models.

The wheel components have been ordered! Elcruxio, I ended up following your advice and I did go with the DT Swiss 350. Both hubs (DT Swiss 350 and Hope pro 2 Evo) are so excellent and so similar in price, that I really don't think there was a wrong decision to make.

I was originally pretty set on buying a pre-built wheel with a Surly SS hub, but in the end, I am glad I spent the (considerable) extra money for a cassette hub so that I have options down the road. Who knows, even a knee injury might stick me back on a derailleur sometime. Knock on wood.

Anyways, here's the final build:

• DT Swiss 350 Disc Hub, 32-hole
• Surly Marge Lite rim, 65mm
• Wheelsmith Double-Butted Spokes (DT only came in boxes of 50, I don't think there's a noticeable difference).
• Brass spoke nipples

That wheel should be finished in the next week or two by my LBS.
