Show us your Trek 920
Hey, all you Trek 920 owners. Let's see some pictures and ride impressions. Mainly pictures. I don't have one, and have never actually seen one in person. Here's a link to the Trek website. 920 | Adventure & touring bikes | Road bikes | Bikes | Trek Bikes

Squeezebox, Let's see yours ! show its not a vapor & BS.
|
Last year in Jim Thorpe, PA I saw a guy with one. Talked to him for a bit while I was unloading and putting the wheels back on my inferior LHT. The guy told me that, touring-wise, he uses it for credit card touring on rail trails. Things like the GAP.
Never before noticed the front platform rack. As someone who tours exclusively with a front platform rack, I have to say the one on the 920 looks a little high for my tastes. |
So send me to a site to learn how to do photos. Geez!! it's done all the time, It can't be that tough. I have a file of photos, I can't figure out how to get them to post. It's not exactly on my list of priorities, particularly after being repeatedly attacked. But if you're willing to, do please help.
The front rack does seem to be too big. A trunk rack fits nicely on top. The 720 14L fork bags look like a nice light option, under $100. I wish they did a brake lever shifter option. I like the way it handles. So far it's been a good bicycle. Anyone near St. Louis is welcome to come over and test my 52cm. |

There. Go to that site to learn how to do photos. Or read any of the many posts over the last month which have been directed to you and give step by step instructions. Is that bike under your screen name yours or just a random internet pic? |

Click on the blue "upload images" rectangle in the upper left In the pop-up, click on "browse your computer" Now you should be looking at your computer's file system. Navigate to your images, select them, then press "open" The imgur popup should now have a list at the bottom of your file names. Click on "Start Upload" Once it uploads, it should bring you to a view with the images that you uploaded. For each image: Right click on the image and select the option like "copy link address", or whatever it is to copy the URL of the image. Go to the tab where you're making a post here, and click the "insert image" box. Click on "from URL" Uncheck "retrieve remote file and reference locally" Copy the file URL into the text area Select "OK" |
squeezebox, send me the picture in a mail and I put the pictures

One person did a post just as vague as yours.
I'll look up flickr and photo bucket when I get time. Some how I stumbled through how to post an Avatar, can't figure out how to repeat it. My guess is that it will eventually happen. For an intelligent answer I'll ask the hikers. Thank you not much!! |

The Trek 920 has been so maligned by now, I want to see some real pictures and real ride impressions. Aside from a certain person who claims to have one, there must be others here who actually have one and are willing to share. Anyone?

I also have had problems uploading pictures. I believe that there is a maximum file size - post processed at 25% of the original and it works. I'd guess max size of 1M.

Not for me. If the link points to the original, the same limitations seem to apply (my experience using Dropbox links). If the hosted picture has been post processed, I suppose that it'll work.

920 sightings are apparently rarer than Sasquatch sightings. I saw the tire tracks of an elusive 920 and caught this blurry picture before it got away.

That's probably why most of us upload pictures to a photo storage/sharing site, Flickr in my case.

For an intelligent answer I'll ask the hikers. Thank you not much!! I am truly interested in people's thoughts on the 920 and was giving you the benefit of the doubt until someone offered to post the picture for you and you seem to just insult them back. I am going to offer you a word of advice. If you want the people to stop "hating" you are going to need to either post a picture or stop starting threads that come across very condescending. If the next couple posts I see from you are not a picture, a legit review of an quick overnight, or a post indicating you took someone up on their offer to post for you while you a learning how to post more, then I am going to add you to my ignore list. People spent a lot of time and effort answering your questions while searching for a bike (I learned a lot while reading them). Now, that you finally got one, they either want you to post a picture of your new workhorse, or post a trip review of the bike. You have done neither. You seem excited about your purchase, which is awesome. All people want you to do is show it off. FYI... google is your friend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UxjW7Aq_eU |

After yet another epic fail by the Secret Service, a 2nd barrier was put in place around the White House in 2014. There's no 2nd barrier in your photo. The Trek 920 came out in 2015. Sorry, your phantom bike ain't a Trek 920. Busted!
