Tubus front rack: which type fits?
1 Attachment(s)
I have a 2012 Kona Sutra touring bike. I am not happy with the front racks that came with the bike so I'd like to replace them with Tubus but I'm confused as to which one(s) would fit.
As you can see from the photo of my bike upright in the bike rack at work, there is a front caliper brake attachment point that may be used, there is a middle attachment point where the front fender attaches and there is an attachment point, currently unused, near the base of the fork. I would appreciate some help with this, thanks. Attachment 533212 |

Rose Bikes out of Germany sells the Tubus racks for dirt cheap. The Tara is currently $53 plus very reasonable shipping. That's about half of what you find it in the US. |
I could make any Of them fit .. You have a fork tip threaded hole + the Mid fork Boss ..
Longer bolts and spacers is always an option. Smarti, less low riding, is offering a Bit more under bag clearance, and can bolt up to the Vacant brake bosses . ./. |
Probably any of them could fit. Most have many mounting options. I put the Nova on mine, along with a Cosmo rear, so both racks are stainless steel. Should last a life time I hope.

phughes, I considered contacting Wayne at TheTouringStore but I was hoping to make a local purchase or at least a Canadian sourced purchase so I didn't want to bother him for advice on a sale that would probably not be his.
OK, so, it looks like my bike is capable of almost any of them and it is just a decision on which one. Thanks |
