Kickstands are convenience items. My wife would be lost without hers, while I am always in search of a suitable object to lean against. In both cases, bikes can and will fall down, nothing is foolproof.

it's not about your bike falling over it's the damage it does to the tubes .there ok for an old cheap town bike (even then) ,why take the chance ,i know i certainly wouldn't have one anywhere near my bikes ,but each to there own.
