I've never had a problem with the Strada wireless. I stopped using the Garmin on tour because it's a pain to recharge every day. Easy to carry an extra 2032 battery.

Those 2032 batteries have to be kept dry. On my last long tour I kept my batteries with all my other tools in a bag at the bottom of my pannier, and by the time I needed one they'd been soggy for so long that none of them worked. If you tour for long enough, it's impossible to keep anything truly moisture free. These days I use a waterproof drybag for all my small electronics.
