Also, you must read the reviews. Priceless

no sloping toptubes in the 60s, but hey.
I'd bargain it down if few hundred thou just for that.

robow 10-13-16 08:23 AM

I wonder if he'll take a check?

alan s 10-13-16 08:54 AM

At least the shipping is reasonable.

gerryl 10-13-16 09:01 AM

At that price, it must be a good bike.

well, it certainly raises the bar for what must be considered high-end.
suppose now a $5000 co-motion would be considered cheap junk.

I wouldn't be caught dead on some cheap ass $5000 bike.:)

They did not make fork crowns like that in the 1960s, the stated vintage is clearly not authentic. You should be able to bargain it down to maybe a tenth of the asking price ... or maybe even less.

spinnaker 10-13-16 05:22 PM

I would have bought it but the $4.49 shipping takes it over the top. No thanks.

Too bad he only has one. You could probably buy a dozen at that price.

I was going to buy you one for your upcoming birthday but I figured you probably already have a couple in the garage.

Can you imagine trying to insure that thing?

spinnaker 10-13-16 07:03 PM

I want to know if the water bottles come with the bike. If they are extra then no deal!

Squeezebox 10-13-16 10:52 PM

I just put in a bid for $20. I wonder if I'll get it.

Hey Squeeze, remember what you said, you get what you pay for, and if that's true, then this must be the ultimate, finest touring bike ever made.

spinnaker 10-14-16 03:21 PM

Do a search

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st_p...rice-desc-rank

$148.5K for a saddle?

$14K for a trunk lock? I wonder if they will sell a lock for that trunk lock and what it would cost?

$14K for a basket.

$14K for a windbreaker. Guess if you are buying a $75M bicycle, you will want a $14K windbreaker.

but high end bikes must demand a high end price. $$$ = quality

any bike bought for under $2000, even a co-motion on close out,
by definition MUST be inferior garbage.

So I did not like the LHT.
I never said $$= quality in and of itself. Your stupid assumption not mine.
Co-motion never goes on close out.
Enough with the insults.

Mod note: Lets keep this civil. This forum does a good job normally of keeping discussions interesting and friendly.
