Tube Size Question
I just changed my tires, going from 37mm to 32mm. They're pumped up and all seems well. I just realized that I reused the tubes which are labeled 35-42 mm. Should I change them out for properly sized tubes? It seems that using tubes too small/narrow would likely overstretch them but is there really a problem using tubes rated with a range wider than the tire. Obviously the tires and tubes are all 700c.
Thank you. |
Only if they pinch when you install them. Since yours are pretty close in size your probably OK. When you go way oversize its really tuff to get them in without pinching the tube. This always results in a flat tire.

That plus a little extra unneeded weight. Next time you need tubes, get the smaller size.

They should be Fine a long as they were not pinched anywhere.

Only once have I had trouble with too big of a tube, and I knew it when putting it in. If everything worked fine, then stick with what worked fine.

Thank you for your responses. I'll run what I have for now and I've already bought "right size" tubes for replacement down the road.
