Two years ago had a couple I had to stop and take a photo of. Granted I'm a northern boy so the southern things don't quite seem normal.. There are somethings you just don't see up here in New England or in the northern/central part of the midwest. You see skunk, porcupines, deer, bear, squirrels, chipmunks, etc. so they don't even catch my attention.

I was right around the GA/FL border and saw and came across an object laying on the road and I thought 'that looks like a dead armadillo'. I had to turn around and take a photo. Wish I would have seen a live, wild armadillo.

Then I was central/northern LA and had to turn around and take the photo of the dead web foot...let's see the team name is the Florida alligator so that must mean its the Louisiana crocidiles(sp?). Small baby, not big at all, laying right on the shoulder ofthe road dead as a rock.

I think its the tings you don't normal see that get your attention versus the things you see all the time.

In South Beach Miami I rode past a 1.2 m/4' gator that trotted away & jumped into the canal. BTW according to a true-crime show, it's a myth that murder victims can be tossed into a canal & the gators will eat 'em all up conveniently erasing evidence. Supposedly the gators will eat some but don't "clean their plate".

50 seminarians? My bro-in-law and I rode part of the High Bridge Trail in central Virginia yesterday and at one point we saw a group of dark-clad persons walking ahead of us. Turned out to be several guys in cassocks. A little further we came upon a second group, and later another, then another, etc. Had to be fifty of them total. Not something I usually find on the road/trail.

Not really funny but rather peculiar instead.

In belgium in the Ardennes mountains we rode past a road crew doing what road crews do but a few hundred meters after them on the road was a dead dog that had been recently shot. Clean bullet hole right in the shoulder with surprisingly little fresh blood around the corpse. Never did find out what had happened to it.

In Italy we rode past a brush fire. Was weird. Saw a lot of fire trucks going that way a km or so afterwards.

Also in Italy on a smaller auxillary road next to freeway we saw several scantily clad women sitting under parasols waiting for something....

Aaaand also in Italy saw thousand upon thousands of massive web weaving spiders on an concrete structure over an old canal

They do put some effort into the costumes I must say. BTW it's interesting to read that Thais supposedly rarely refer to the capital city as "Bangkok" & call it "Krung Thep" ("City of Angels").

Likely prostitutes. Saw something similar while riding to a stage finish of the '95 Giro at the Bianchi factory.
